Two games into the 2010-11 season, and the Superior International Junior Hockey League franchise is still without a win.

The Dryden Ice Dogs were their vanquishers on Friday night, riding a three-goal second period to a 6-5 home-ice win.

Ryan Lobreau had a natural hat trick for Dryden, netting the final goal of the first period to pull the Ice Dogs to within a goal of the fast-starting Stars, then scoring twice in the first 6:12 of the second to give his team the lead for good.

TRhomas Greene, Cole Sonstebo and Len Pelletier also scored for Dryden.

Isaac Howarth, Travis Tilley and Quinn Rempel staked the North Stars to an early 3-1 lead in the first, the the Todd Howarth-coached squad couldn’t hang on.

Tilley added a second goal midway through the third, with Matt Kaarela making it a one-goal game again with 76 seconds to go in regulation.

At Fort Frances, the Lakers stormed back from an early 3-0 deficit against defending champion Wisconsin, scoring six unanswered goals in the final stanza to complete a 6-3 comeback win over the Wilderness.

Ben Michaud had two of the six goals, with singles going to Marty McFadden, Jordan Larson, Adam Wensley and Henry Gutierrez.

At Sioux Lookout, the Duluth Clydesdales broke open a one-goal game in the third, scoring twice to earn a 5-2 triumph over the Flyers.

Jordan Shockley had a pair of first-period goals for the victors. Chris Hoffman and Matt Reed scored the Flyers goals.
