Thomas Greene and Ty Brueggeman scored power play goals to give the Ice Dogs (10-8-4) the lead, thenJesse Linner iced it with a empty netter in the final half-minute.

Issac Howarth's first-period shorthanded tally was the lone goal the Stars (11-7-5) could muster.

At Fort Frances, Byron Katapaytuk had a goal and four assists to lead the Lakers to a 9-2 win over expansion Iron Range.

Merritt Rysavy, Henry Gutierrez, Jordan Larson, Marty McFadden, Brett McMahon and Jordan Christianson, with a pair, also scored for the Lakers.
