It was a two-win opening day for the Winning Streak Charters Bantam AA Queens hockey team at the Manon Rheaume Tournament in Detroit.

The Queens took on a strong team from North York in Friday's opener, but Sarah Doyle tied the game in the opening minute of the third period and a minute later Sammy Isbell gave them the lead for good as they went on to a 3-2 win.

In their second game of the day the Queens were matched up against the Chicago Mission, the second-ranked under-14 girls team in the United States.

Isbell scored twice and Doyle added an empty netter to earn the 3-0 win.

The Queens will play the Ohio Flames on Saturday afternoon.
