Johnston eliminated at juniors

Cody Johnston had his Ontario opponent right where he wanted him in the early going of Draw 10 on Wednesday at the Canadian junior men’s curling championship in Calgary. It’s the finish he’d like to have another crack at.

It’s the finish he’d like to have another crack at.

Up 5-3 through give ends, Thunder Bay’s Johnston surrendered three points in the sixth end, then after tying the game 6-6 in the seventh, surrendered a match-killing four points in the eighth  and went on to a 10-7 defeat.

The loss dropped Johnston (4-5) into eighth spot, with one game remaining Wednesday night against New Brunswick. It also eliminated the Thunder Bay foursome, which includes lead Michael Makela, second Mark Adams and third Mike Badiuk, from playoff contention.
Camm, in second place in the men’s standings, improved to 7-2.
