THUNDER BAY, Ont. – The Thunder Bay Kings will see all four of their AAA teams in action, on home ice, Dec. 16-18 as they host the first annual CCM Showcase, powered by One Hockey, at Fort William First Nation Arena.
The three-day event will feature a total of 18 games taking place in three divisions; peewee, bantam and midget.
Competing in the peewee bracket will be the Gentry Galaxy of Minnesota and the HNO Stars, a select team made up of players from Dryden, Kenora and Fort Frances, who will join the peewee Kings and the North End Flames bantam AA squad.
Joining the bantam Kings, who are fresh off a NAPHL Future Prospects tournament title last weekend, will be a pair of midget AA clubs from the Thunder Bay Minor Hockey Association in the Volunteer Pool Bearcats and Current River Comets.
Action in the midget division is sure to be fast-paced and highly entertaining.
Both the powerful Shattuck-St. Mary’s Sabres Prep School under-16 and U-18 sides will be making the trek from Faribault, Minn., to participate.
Also on hand will be the Kings’ long-time rival Kenora Thistles, who compete out of the Manitoba AAA Midget Hockey League.
Rounding out the field will be Thunder Bay’s minor and major midget Kings’ clubs.
Weekend passes for the three-day Kings CCM Showcase, powered by One Hockey, are just $20 while day passes go for $10.
