The LU men’s basketball team is back where it started the weekend, two games ahead of the competition in the OUA West.

Jamie Searle dropped 24 points on Saturday night, leading Lakehead to a 65-58 win over Waterloo, a team that stopped their five-game winning streak the night before.

Venzal Russell, with 13, was the only other Thunderwolves player to crack double digits.

Lakehead (14-4) got help from Windsor, who beat Laurier 77-67, creating a two-way tie for second at 12-6.

The No. 6 Wolves host Brock next weekend in their final home games of the OUA regular season.
