Lakehead winning streak snapped

The Lakehead Thunderwolves will look to start a new winning streak next weekend when the Guelph Gryphons come to town.

The Wolves had their streak of seven straight wins snapped on Saturday night by the host Laurier Golden Hawks, unable to muster the offence needed to pull out the victory in a 3-2 loss.

Trevor Gamache and Jake Carrick were the only LU players to beat Hawks goalie Ryan Daniels, who got offensive support from Thomas Middup, James Marsden and Mitch Lebar.

The Wolves (7-3-0) remain tied atop the OUA West Division standings with Western (6-0-2), who have two games in hand.
It was just the second win in eight outings for the normally strong Golden Hawks.
