Lakers swamp Wolverines

The Fort Frances Lakers may be at the bottom of the Superior International Junior Hockey League standings, but they're still a team one can't take for granted. The K&A Wolverines found that out the hard way on Friday night.
The Fort Frances Lakers may be at the bottom of the Superior International Junior Hockey League standings, but they're still a team one can't take for granted.

The K&A Wolverines found that out the hard way on Friday night.

The Lakers erupted for four third-period goals, including a pair by Justin Erhart, leading the host Fort Frances club to a 5-0 whitewashing of the Wolverines.

Tyler Stevenson, who also had a pair of assists, Cody Edwards and Mike Jourdain, were the other Lakers goalscorers.

Jameson Shortreed made 36 saves for the shutout, his second in 32 outings.
