Late-inning homers down Cats

Two eighth inning home runs propelled Mankato to a 10-6 victory over the Border Cats.

THUNDER BAY -- The struggles continue for the Thunder Bay Border Cats.

The Cats gave up four runs in the final two frames of Friday night's contest, and ended up in the loss column 10-6 against Mankato at Port Arthur Stadium.

Reliever Keenan Eaton gave up two Mankato home runs to Garrett Mitchell and Austin Bull in the eight inning, and was credited with the loss. 

Leadoff hitter Cam Pearcey led the way for the Cats on offense, hitting a solo shot to start the game.

He finished 3-6 with 2 RBIs.

Three other Cats put up multi-hit games.

The Border Cats will return to Port Arthur Stadium Saturday against, facing off against the St. Cloud Rox at 6 p.m.

The Cats own a second-half record of 6-14, while St. Cloud sits at 10-10.
