Basketball fans, circle Nov. 8 on your calendar.
That’s when the defending national champion Carleton Ravens are scheduled to make their biennial visit to Thunder Bay, taking on the Lakehead Thunderwolves in a rematch of the 2013 CIS men’s basketball Final 8 championship game.
A week earlier the retooled Wolves will embark on the hunt for a fifth straight trip to nationals in Kingston, where they’ll take on Queen’s on Nov. 1. The following night they’ll hit the highway for Toronto, and a date with the York Lions.
Other first-half home dates for Lakehead include Ottawa, their semifinal opponent from last season, Toronto and Ryerson. The Wolves will play two in Windsor before the Christmas break. Other road games include stops at Laurentian and first-year Algoma, joining the OUA circuit for their first season.
Second-half opponents making the trip to Thunder Bay include Waterloo, Western, McMaster and Guelph.
Lakehead will play 12 home games and 10 on the road.
The women’s team plays an identical schedule. Women’s games are slated to begin at 6 p.m., with the men tipping off at 8 p.m.
