LU has five-game win streak snapped

A 26-point effort from Tim Rossy led the Waterloo Warriors to an upset 79-65 home-court win over the No. 6-ranked Lakehead Thunderwolves on Friday night.

The Warriors (8-9) did most of their damage late, outscoring Lakehead 27-11 in the final quarter to erase a two-point deficit.

Jamie Searle had 18 points and eight rebounds for the Wolves (13-4), who snapped a five-game losing streak, but still maintain a one-game lead over Laurier in the OUA West.

Venzal Russell put forth a 16-point effort and Yoosrie Salhia had 13 rebounds in a losing effort.

The two teams hook up again on Saturday.
