LU men crack 100 points, whips Brandon

The Brandon Bobcats had no chance at a buzzer beater on Saturday. The Lakehead Thunderwolves made sure of that, cracking the century mark in a 104-62 road win, 41 more points than the Wolves beat the Bobcats the night before.

Venzal Russell led all scorers in the non-conference tilt, scoring 22, including four three-pointers. Ben Johnson had 17, as did Greg Carter, while Ryan Thomson scored 15 for the victors.

Emerick Ravier topped Brandon’s scoring parade, finishing with 13 points.

“We were much more discipline on defense and efficient on offense tonight and it showed on the scoreboard,” said LU coach Scott Morrison. “The sooner our guys dedicate themselves to our game-plan each night for 40 minutes, the sooner we can think about being a contender in the OUA West."
