Mason Quarrell continues to be the standout for the T-Wolves, challenging his American NCAA counterparts in the mile competition. Quarrell was in the lead with 100 metres to go but was overtaken in the final strides of the race, finishing a respectable third place.

Kayla Gallo and Tyler White both set new personal bests (PBs) in the 3,000-metre, with Gallo cutting her personal best by an impressive 10 seconds. Gallo and White placed second in their respective sections.

"Today was pretty good, overall a positive day," coach Kip Sigsworth said. "The athletes were coming off a big block of training and weren't fresh but I was happy with how they competed and stayed mentally engaged."

The track team travels next to the Bison Classic, hosted by the University of Manitoba on Feb 5 and Feb. 6.
