It was a weekend to forget for the Thunderwolves women's basketball team.

Lakehead was blown out for a second straight night on the road by the No. 2-ranked and defending national champion Windsor Lancers, dropping to 7-9 on the season and in danger of falling out of playoff contention if they don't turn things around in a hurry.
It was the fourth straight loss and fifth in six outings for the Wolves, who are in a three-way tie for fifth place in the OUA West. Only the top six teams make the postseason.

LU was outscored in all four quarters on Saturday night, scoring just six points apiece in the second and third periods as the Lancers built a lead and pulled away in a hurry.

Laura Mullins led all scorers with 18 for the Lancers. Lacey McNulty topped the Wolves with 11, the only Lakehead player to break double digits.

The Wolves host the 1-15 Waterloo Warriors for a pair next weekend.
