It was a great day under sunny blue skies in Canmore, Alta., as Andrea Lee and Daphne Haggarty led the lady wolves to a third place finish in the Canadian College and University Nordic Ski Championships relay.

"Today's sprint relay was such a positive way to start off a week of racing,” said second year Lakeahead Nordic Ski Team member Daphne Haggarty. “We were
fortunate to have such fast skis and excellent support on the trails from our dedicated waxers and coaches, who share in our success.

“The Lakehead Nordic Ski Team is looking forward to more great results this coming week."

Britt Bailey and Katherine Hall also represented Lakehead, and finished in 10th place.

On the men's side, after being in the lead pack for most of the race, an unfortunate fall left Ben Jones and Greg Kilroy crossing the line in the sixth position.

On the club side of the relay races, top local results included Steph Drost and Moira Haggary of Big Thunder Nordic. They placed eight in a very strong field.

Also of Big Thunder, Julian Freitag and Angus Foster came in 10th in the Challenge Boy's category.

In the Open Men's category, Jimmy Gunka and Chris Hamilton had an outstanding performance placing eighth.Full results can be found at www.zone4.ca.
