Mike MacDonald will not return to the Lakehead Thunderwolves for a second season. The Thunder Bay forward told team officials on Thursday he wanted to move to Sudbury to be with his girlfriend.

MacDonald is the fourth player to depart the Wolves this week.

Luke Judson, the Wolves top rookie last season, is turning pro with the San Francisco Bulls of the ECHL. Goalie Alex Dupuis is also looking at pro opportunities, team officials confirmed Friday, while star forward Matt Caria’s name has been removed from the team roster.

Team officials have refused comment on Caria’s situation.

MacDonald scored four goals and added 11 assists in 26 OUA contests in 2012-13.
