Steals in the ninth and 10th ends got Krista McCarville back on track on Friday at the Canada Cup of Curling in Medicine Hat.
The Thunder Bay skip took a 4-3 lead in the ninth end on B.C.’s Kelly Scott, adding the insurance point in the final end to improve to 3-1. Scott, a former world champion, finished round-robin play winless at 0-5.
McCarville, whose team includes lead Sarah Lang, second Kari MacLean and third Ashley Miharija, and Cheryl Bernard top the Pool B standings. Shannon Kleibrink, the only undefeated woman’s skip left after Draw 8, leads all curlers at 4-0.
McCarville plays Heather Nedohin (1-3) to wrap up round-robin play on Friday night.
