Thunder Bay’s Krista McCarville owes thanks to the city’s other two skips at the Ontario Scotties Tournament of Hearts.

The Fort William Curling Club skip earned a hard-fought 7-6 win over rink mate Ashley Kallos (3-5) on Friday afternoon in Thornhill, Ont., clinching at least a spot in a tiebreaker in the process.

Meanwhile Port Arthur Curling Club skip Marlo Dahl (3-5) stole one in the 10th end to complete a 10-9 comeback against Lisa Farnell (4-4), a game Dahl once trailed 7-2.

Farnell and McCarville were tied for fourth place heading into the afternoon draw.

Ottawa’s Rachel Homan continues to lead the pack at 7-1. McCarville (5-3), the only Thunder Bay rink left in contention, takes on London’s Marika Bakewell in Friday night’s round-robin finale.
