McCarville evens record at Olympic pre-trials

SUMMERSIDE, P.E.I. – A quick start in Wednesday’s morning draw earned Krista McCarville her first win at the Road to the Roar Olympic pre-trial competition in Summerside, P.E.I.

McCarville, whose team includes Sarah Potts, Ashley Sippala and Kendra Lilly, scored two with the hammer in the opening end, then stole another point in the second to take a 3-0 lead over Winnipeg’s Briane Meilleur rink.

The Thunder Bay skip would go on to a 5-3 triumph, evening her record at 1-1.

McCarville (1-1) will take on B.C.’s Karla Thompson foursome in Wednesday’s evening draw. Thompson is 1-2.

The Northwestern Ontario foursome dropped their opening match on Tuesday, 7-6 to Winnipeg’s Darcy Robertson and is tied for third in the Pool B Standings. Kerri Einerson leads the way at 2-0.
