Billy Jenkins scored his first OUA goal and Cody Alcock netted his first of the season, but it wasn’t enough to help the Lakehead Thunderwolves start 2015-16 on a winning note.

Billy Jenkins scored his first OUA goal and Cody Alcock netted his first of the season, but it wasn’t enough to help the Lakehead Thunderwolves start 2015-16 on a winning note.

The host UQTR Patriotes broke open a 1-1 tie with goals late in the second and early in the third and went on to defeat the Wolves (0-1-1) 4-2.

Martin Lefebvre, Guillaume Asselin, Pierre-Maxime Poudrier and Tommy Giroux – into the empty net – were the Patriotes goal scorers.

Fifth-year veteran Jeff Bosch made 29 saves in the loss. Sebastien Auger stopped 28 of 30 to pick up the victory.
The two teams meet again on Saturday afternoon.

The Thunderwolves open their home schedule next Friday and Saturday night against the Queen’s Golden Gaels.
