PITTSBURGH - Matt Murray has a win to his name two games into the start of his National Hockey League career.
The Thunder Bay netminder stopped 22 shots as his Pittsburgh Penguins snapped a five-game losing skid with a 5-2 victory over the Columbus Blue Jackets at the Consol Energy Center on Monday night.
Trailing 1-0 after the first period, the Penguins exploded with a four-goal second period to help their rookie 21-year-old goalie improve his record to 1-1-0.
Murray made his Pittsburgh debut on Saturday, making 26 saves in a 2-1 loss to the Carolina Hurricanes. It was Thunder Bay's Jordan Staal, a former Penguin, who scored the first NHL goal against Murray in that contest.
