LONDON, Ont. -- A second-quarter meltdown put the Lakehead Thunderwolves nine-game winning streak on ice.

The Western Mustangs (14-6) outscored the Wolves 21-9 in the period and it proved to be the difference as they went on to knock off No. 5 Lakehead 91-80 at home on Friday night.

The Thunderwolves cut a halftime deficit to as little as seven in the third quarter, but were unable to compelete the comeback.

Isaiah Traylor led all scorers with 22 points, while Laoui Msambya had 19 and Lock Lam chipped in a double-double, scoring 14 points and grabbing 10 boards.

Omar Shiddo topped the Mustangs with 21 points. Aryan Sharma also had a double-double, with 14 points and 11 rebounds.

The Wolves (15-4) head to Windsor on Saturday to wrap up the road portion of their schedule.
