North Stars drop seventh straight

Eric Szymczyk made 16 saves Wednesday night, leading the Dryden Ice Dogs to a 4-0 win over the visiting Thunder Bay North Stars. 

Paul Thompson scored twice for Dryden, with singles going to Rory Court, who opened the scoring at 6:48 of the second, and Chris Belhumeur.

It was the seventh straight loss for the Stars (25-24-1), who are buried in last place in the Superior International Junior Hockey League standings.

The third-place Ice Dogs improved to 28-24-2.
