North Stars rally from four down to edge Iron Rangers

It was a comeback for the ages. The Thunder Bay North Stars spotted the visiting Minnesota Iron Rangers a four-goal lead on Friday night, but stormed back in the third to score an improbable 8-6 win.

Brad Thrower scored twice, with third-period singles to Kris Hamlin, Brendan Gillis and Jesse Talakosk, with his second of the contest .

Cashen Tighe had a pair of goals and added an assist for the home side.|

The Iron Rangers raced out to a 2-0 lead in the first six minutes of the game, John Cuni and Nick Stockert tallying.

After Tighe cut the lead in half 40 seconds later, Mitch Renstrom, Dan Sarnecki and Alex Arnold put pucks past Thunder Bay goalie Riley Corbin in a span of less than five minutes.

Talakoski cut the lead to 5-2 with a late first-period goal.

Bryce Kamenick made 32 stops in a losing cause for the Iron Rangers (5-5-1).

Next up for the North Stars (4-6-1) is a home game Saturday night against the Fort Frances Lakers.
