Down 7-3 to Nova Scotia through eight ends, the Thunder Bay skip roared back, scoring two in the ninth, stealing two in the 10th to tie and two more in the extra end to pull off an improbable 9-7 win to improve to 2-0 at the Scottie Tournament of Hearts in Grand Prairie, Alta.

McCarville, lead Sarah Potts, second Ashley Sippala and third Kendra Lilly are one of three undefeated teams remaining at the women’s national curling championship.

Alberta’s Chelsea Carey downed B.C.’s Karla Thompson 8-5 on Sunday to jump to 3-0, while Quebec’s Marie France Larouche knocked off Saskatchewan with a 10-4 win over Saskatchewan’s Jolene Campbell.

McCarville takes on defending champion Jennifer Jones (1-1) in Sunday’s evening draw.
