This past weekend 11 swimmers from the Northwest Narwhal Swim Club took part in the 2016 Splash Swim Meet in Dryden with some outstanding results from each swimmer.
Ilana Mironsky swept the 12 year old female category with 1st place results in all 7 of her events over the two day event.
In the tough 13 and over Female open category the girls performed well. Morgan LaBelle (18), swam hard to finish 1st in 4 events and 2nd in three events. Alyssa Bossio (13) had three 1st place finishes, a pair of 2nd’s, a third and a 4th . Skye Dusolt (13) swam to a 2nd, three 3rds a 4th,6th and 7th.
In the 10 year old boys category Carson Cambly, slashed time off of many swims resulting in a pair of 1st place finishes, a 2nd , a 3rd, two 4th’s and a 5th. David Iwanyszyn Jr. , also of that division dropped time swimming many personal best times to end up with a 2nd, two 4th place finishes, a 5th, 6th , 7th and 8th.
In the 13 and over male open category the team showed outstanding results. Lawson Mironsky (15) lead the group with five 1st place finishes and a 2nd . Eric Osala (15) had three 1st’s and three 3rd’s. Cameron Mackey (17) had an impressive two 1st place and five 2nd placings. Donovan Moore (14) finished up with a 1st, two 3rd, two 4th and a 6th in his swims. Andrew Leschuk (14) gave it his all to finish with a pair of 3rd’s, a 5th, two 6th and 8th place finishes.
Next up the team heads off to the Manitoba Saskatchewan Open Provincial Championships in March.
