THUNDER BAY – The Thunder Bay Chill will have a pair of talented and familiar faces manning their back end in 2018.
Captain Mitchell Osmond and fellow defender Luca Mastrantonio have confirmed to the Premier Development League team they’ll be back this summer as the Chill seek to return to the championship final for a second straight season.
Osmond, who has played more than 40 games for the Chill, returns for a fourth season, while Mastantonio will be back for a second campaign.
“Both Mitchell and Luca were part of our strong defensive unit last season but can also bring it offensively when needed. They are very versatile, and I have used them higher in the lineup if there was a good case for it,” said coach Giovanni Petraglia, in a release issued on Wednesday by the team.
The Chill will open the pre-season on May 26 and May 27 with a pair of friendlies against the Winnipeg Lions.
They open their regular season home schedule on June 8 against the Des Moines Menace.
