OUA men’s and women’s basketball will have a decidedly different look in 2014-15.

The governing body for university sports in the province announced Wednesday both sports will double the number of divisions from two to four.

The number of playoff participants will remain at 12, consisting of the top three teams in each division, which then be ranked one through 12 based on RPI rankings against other playoff teams to determine post-season seeding.

The top four teams receive a first-round bye.

The Lakehead Thunderwolves will join the Central Division, alongside Brock, McMaster and Guelph. The Wolves will play each divisional rival twice and each out-of-division team once.

The full schedule is expected to be released early next month.
