Parsons wins fourth, Cats shut out Huskies

Wes Parsons has quickly established himself as one of the top starters in the Northwoods League.

Wes Parsons has quickly established himself as one of the top starters in the Northwoods League.

The rookie starter earned his league-leading fourth win of the season Sunday, leading the Thunder Bay Border Cats to a 10-0 win over the host Duluth Huskies, their second triumph in their past four games away from home.

Parsons surrendered just four hits over eight innings for the Cats, who pounded out 12 hits against a quartet of Huskies pitchers.
Ryan Casillas, Scott Donley and Phillip Lyons each drove in a pair of runs to pace the Thunder Bay offensive attack, that started with a pair in the first, with two more coming in the third and single runs in the fourth and fifth.

Joey Webb (L, 0-2), lasted three-and-a-third, giving up five runs on nine hits for Duluth.

The two teams will play a rematch on Monday. The Cats return home on Tuesday to start a five-game set against the second-place Waterloo Bucks.
