There’s something about long road trips in mid-season that appeals to the Thunder Bay Chill.
On Wednesday night the Premier Development League team continued its winning ways away from Chapples Field, blanking the Springfield Demize 3-0 to increase their hold on top spot in the Heartland Division.

Goalie Stephen Paterson recorded his fifth shutout of the season and Brandon Swartzendruber scored twice to pace the Chill.

Swartzendruber netted his first in the 13th minute to give Thunder Bay a 1-0 lead. Miguel Abascal scored two minutes later and Swartzendruber capped the attack in the 87th minute, with his league-leading 11th of the season.

The Chill, undefeated in seven, take on Kansas City on Thursday night and wrap up the five-game road trip on Saturday in Rochester.
