PITTSBURGH – Thunder Bay goaltender Matt Murray is out of the Pittsburgh Penguins lineup indefinitely.

Penguins coach Mike Sullivan offered up an explanation after practice on Tuesday.

“Matt was diagnosed with a concussion. Yesterday he got hit with a puck in practice,” Sullivan said in a statement released by the team.

Defenceman Olli Maata fired the offending shot off Murray’s mask during Monday's practice.

The NHL team has not said how long the third-year net-minder will be sidelined.

The 23-year-old is 23-13-2 this season with a 2.82 goals against average and a .909 save percentage.
