McCarville, lead Sarah Lang, second Kari MacLean and third Ashley Miharija hit the Ontario Scotties Tournament of Hearts playoffs on a winning note, thumping London’s Marika Bakewell 9-2 in seven ends to finish round robin play at 6-3, good for third place at the provincial women’s curling championship.

The Thunder Bay foursome, who curl out of the Fort William Curling Club, scored three in the first and took a 5-2 lead after four. The two teams blanked the next two ends, before Team McCarville stole four in the seventh to end the match.

Bakewell finished the week at 3-6.

McCarville will play Uxbridge’s Susan McKnight in the 3-4 Page Playoff. McKnight downed Lisa Farnell of the Loonie Curling Club 8-6 in Saturday morning's tiebreaker. Sudbury’s Tracy Horgan will take on Ottawa’s Rachel Homan in Saturday’s 1-2 Page Playoff.
