Puhalski pilots Thunderbolt’s podium performances in Guelph

The Thunder Bay Thunderbolts sent 14 swimmers to the Victor Davis Memorial Cup swim meet in Guelph from April 9 to 12.

The small group of swimmers produced many impressive performances with a total of 14 gold medals and another 20 top three finishes. Lindsay Puhalski (12) led the way with six gold and three silver medals.

Lindsay swept the individual medley events along with wins in freestyle and butterfly events. Isabel Harri (10) pocketed two gold medals in breaststroke events along with a mitt full of bronze medals in other events. Cameron Johnsen (13) grabbed two gold medals in breaststroke swims along with two silver and a bronze medal.

Zoe Hunt (12) completed the breaststroke mastery with gold, silver and bronze medals in those events while sneaking away with three other bronze medals.

Emma Adamson (11) and Jasmine Vardy (10) were respective queens of speed with wins in the premier freestyle sprint event while Jasmine also added a second gold, two silver and bronze medals in other swims.

Emma Zgrych (13), Abby Brown (13), Zack Adamson (14), and Julia Siver (11) all recorded top eight finishes. Rounding out the fine performances were Brooke Hulina (14), Emily Murphy (12), Rachel Brown (11), and Noelle Vita (12) who all swam to top twelve finishes. Next up for the Thunderbolts is the MAC Invitational in Markham starting on April 26.
