Queens down Richilieu at nationals

The unbeaten Hounds, based in Wilcox, Sask., lead the round-robin standings with a 3-0 record.

Brienna Gillanders and Brooke Wilgosh also scored for the Hounds, who scored two goals in the third period to send the game to overtime.

In other Esso Cup action, Thunder Bay beat Richelieu 5-1. Regina and Edmonton met in the late game.

Becky Bowes had two goals and an assist for Moncton (1-2), while Schyler Campbell also scored.

Tamber Tisdale made 21 saves for the Hounds while Meagan Blacquiere stopped 32 shots for the Rockets.

Michela Cava, Brianna Iazzolino and Kaitlyn Tougas all scored within two minutes of each other midway through the first period as Thunder Bay downed Richelieu.

Kaitlyn Tougas ended up with two goals and an assist, while Courtney Tougas also scored for Thunder Bay (2-1).

Genevieve Bannon scored the lone goal for Richelieu (0-3).
