The Thunder Bay peewee Queens have returned home with the bronze medal from their division at the Centennial Super Chill tournament held over the weekend in Blaine, Minn.
Thunder Bay rebounded to defeat the Burnsville Blaze 4-1 in the third place contest Sunday after falling 4-0 to Osseo-Maple Grove in semifinal action earlier in the day.
Alexis Paddington tallied twice and added two assists in the victory vs. Burnsville while Gabriella Andreacchi notched the other two markers in the victory.
Lindsay Humeniuk was the winning netminder in the decision.
Meanwhile the Tim Hortons bantam A Queens also wrapped up play at the Super Chill on a winning note after defeating the Mahtomedi Zephyrs 6-1 in their final contest of the tourney.
Thunder Bay used a well-balanced attack in the triumph getting goals from six different skaters as Jessie Scott, Sarah Grieve, Taylor Armstrong, Makenzie Christie, Caitlin Olinski and Sibley Duckert all found the back of the net.
Goaltender Mya Gowanlock made 14 saves to pick-up the win for the Queens.
