Queen's fall to Edmonton at nationals

REGINA - Heather Kashman's second goal of the game stood as the winner as the Edmonton Thunder beat the Thunder Bay Queens 3-2 Monday at the Esso Cup women's midget hockey championship.

Kelsie Lang also scored for the Thunder (1-1-0), who came back form a 2-1 deficit.

Kaitlyn Quarrell and Brittany Zuback replied for the Queens (1-1-0).

The Notre Dame Hounds improved to 2-0-0 with a 5-3 win over the Richelieu Remparts (0-2-0).

Brooke Wilgosh, Olivia Howe, Meagan Vestby, Julia Flinton and Meghan Sherven scored for the Hounds.

Valerie St-Onge, Veronique Lortie and Jessica Livernois replied for the Remparts.

Also Monday, the host Regina Rebels (1-1-0) doubled the Moncton Rockets (1-1-0) 4-2.

Jenny MacKnight, Paige Anakaer, Patricia McGauley and Kristin Boan scored for the Rebels.

Josee Cormier and Natalie Cormier replied for the Rockets.
