THUNDER BAY – The losses continue to mount for the Lakehead Thunderwolves.

After battling back from three goals down in the third period on Thursday night, Steven Harland sent the Wolves home without a point, netting the game-winner with 41 seconds to play in regulation as the Ryerson Rams (15-7-3) clipped Lakehead 5-4.

It was the seventh straight defeat for the seventh-place Thunderwolves (10-10-4), who take on eighth-place Windsor on Friday night, the second game of Lakehead’s three-game weekend road trip.

Lakehead, who outshot the Rams 18-3 in the first, scored the lone goal of the opening period, Tyler Anton potting his second of the season at the 13:02 mark.

Then the Ryerson offence kicked into gear, the Rams rolling off four straight to take a 4-1 lead 2:37 into the third.

Alex Basso had a pair, including a shorthanded marker, with singles credited to Devon Paliani and Tre Folkes.

LU’s comeback began when rookie Scott Gall beat Taylor Dupuis with his team-leading 10th of the season at 3:24 in the third to cut the Ryerson lead to two.

It continued two minutes later when Sam Schutt potted his fourth goal in seven games to cut the Ryerson, making it a one-goal game.

Freshman Daniel Del Paggio evened things up with 3:04 to play.

Lakehead, with Nic Renyard in net, outshot Ryerson 40-23 on the night.
