Quinn Rempel scored twice and Marc Nother turned aside all 18 shots directed his way and the Thunder Bay North Stars blanked the visiting Sioux Lookout Flyers 3-0 on Thursday.
Kyle Lapenskie was credited with the winning goal, a power play marker that came at the 11:04 mark of the opening period, in a game that was played before 351 fans at Fort William Gardens.
The Stars (16-8-5) return to action on Friday night, when they host the second-place Fort Frances Lakers.
