A four-point second end proved too much for the Krista McCarville to recover from in Sunday’s Ontario Scotties Tournament of Hearts final.

Ottawa’s Rachel Homan, who only lost once all week, scored a 9-6 win on Sunday afternoon, ending McCarville’s provincial women’s curling championship run at two.

Homan and McCarville traded deuces in the third and fourth end, then singles in the fifth and sixth. The Thunder Bay skip made it 7-4 in the seventh, then stole two in the eighth to creep to within one, but Homan, with the hammer in the ninth, scored two to put an end to McCarville’s run.

Homan will represent Ontario at next months national Scotties Tournament of Hearts in Charlottetown, P.E.I.
