Winners of five consecutive contests, the Fort Frances Lakers of the Superior International Junior Hockey League moved up one notch in the Canadian Junior Hockey League Pointstreak top 20 rankings that were announced Monday.
The SIJHL-leading Lakers jumped one notch to fifth overall in the latest CJHL listings, which are compiled in conjunction with International Scouting Services.
Fort Frances won all three of their games last week as they outscored their opponents 14-3 and raised their SIJHL-best record to 22-3-0-1 on the season.
The Trenton Golden Hawks (OJHL) is the new No. 1 side in the 131-team CJHL this week while the Penticton Vees (BCHL) slipped to No. 2.
Rounding out the top five in the CJHL is the Soo Thunderbirds (NOJHL) and Portage Terriers (MJHL) at No. 4 & 5 respectively.
