SIJHL: Week 3 preview

The third week of the Superior International Junior Hockey League’s regular season gets underway Tuesday night as the Sioux Lookout Flyers host the Dryden Ice Dogs in a 7:30 p.m. start at Memorial Arena.

This contest is one of six on the SIJHL slate this week.

Wednesday will see Duluth visiting Wisconsin to take on the Wilderness as those two sides square off for the first time this season at the Northwest Sports Complex.

Friday will mark the debut of the Iron Range Ironheads as the expansion club takes to the ice in their first-ever SIJHL game as they tangle with the Clydesdales in Duluth.

Two more tilts are on tap Saturday as Wisconsin ventures to Thunder Bay to take on the North Stars in their home opener while Dryden visits Duluth for the first of two against the Clydesdales.

The second game in that mini two-game set goes Sunday, Oct. 2 at Heritage Sports Center.
