WINDSOR, Ont. - The Windsor Lancers scored five times in the third period on Friday night to run away from a slumping Lakehead Thunderwolves squad that's now mired in a three-game slide – at the wrong time of year.

Ethan Skinner netted a hat trick for the host Lancers, who rolled off eight straight goals after Lakehead's Josh Laframboise opened the scoring just past the midway point of the first, beating Windsor goaltender Jonathan Reinhart for the only time in the one-sided contest.

Brennan Feasey and Ian Parker had a pair apiece for Windsor, who also got a single from Bryce Yetman.

Anthony Salinitri had four helpers for the home side, who put eight pucks past Nic Renyard on just 26 shots.

The loss dropped Lakehead to 10-11-2, leaving them in seventh place in the OUA West, a point ahead of Laurier and two ahead of ninth-place Waterloo, who have a game in hand. Only the top eight teams make the playoffs.

The Thunderwolves head to London, Ont. on Saturday to take on Western, a team that beat them twice on home ice last wekeend.
