St. Ignatius opens with hoops win

St. Ignatius’s Katelyn Andrea kicked off the senior girls high school basketball season in style, leading the Falcons to a 44-13 win over Superior Collegiate. Andrea collected 21 points in the lopsided win.

Andrea collected 21 points in the lopsided win. Emmarie Leeson led the Gryphons with four points.

In other senior girls play, Anna Kammerman had 12 points to lead Churchill past Hammarskjold 33-26 and Jillian Fazio had a dozen in Westgate’s 56-14 pounding of St. Patrick.

In junior girls play, Aliisa Heiskanen scored 16 and Kristen Setala added 12 as Hammarskjold trounced Churchill 60-15.

Elsewhere, Karly Perrier had nine as St. Patrick edged Westgate 24-23 and Caitlyn Tarabocchia’s eight led the way as St. Ignatius downed Superior Collegiate 21-17.
