Brandon Warmington made a great first impression with the Thunder Bay North Stars.

The Alberta Junior Hockey League transfer, acquired at the trade deadline earlier in the week, had a goal and two assists to lead the Stars to a 7-0 win over Sioux Lookout at Fort William Gardens on Wednesday night.

Matt Kaarela had a goal and three assists for the winning side, who got a 15-save shutout performance from goalie Marc Nother.
Quinn Rempel, Marshall Fox, Brennen Dubchak, Travis Tilley and Michael Orosey also scored for the North Stars (18-12-5).

In other Superior International Junior Hockey League action on Wednesday, the Dryden Ice Dogs scored four times in the third period and Tyson Holder netted the overtime winner, securing a 5-4 win over the expansion Iron Range Ironheads.

Chris Belhumer, Thomas Greene, Bryce Maggrah and Daniel Morin erased a 3-0 Iron Range lead in an eight-minute span.
Shamus O’Neill sent the game to overtime with Iron Range goalie Chris Stokke on the bench in favour of an extra attacker, the equalizer coming with 1:29 to go in regulation.
