Stars complete perfect road weekend

The road hasn't been the friendliest place this season for the Thunder Bay North Stars, but they've caught fire away from home of late.

The road hasn't been the friendliest place this season for the Thunder Bay North Stars, but they've caught fire away from home of late.

In the midst of a five-game road trip – in fact a segment of 12 straight away from Fort William Gardens – the Stars on Sunday picked up their third straight away-game win, blanking the Sioux Lookout Flyers 5-0 to complete a perfect weekend.

Brandon Wolframe had a pair of goals and Kyle Lapenskie had a goal and two assists, giving him seven points in two games, to power the North Stars (26-18-5) offence.

Marc Nother made 18 saves to earn the shutout, his fifth of the season.

Marshall Fox and Michael Orosey had the other Thunder Bay goals.

Sioux Lookout dropped to 23-26-2 with the loss.
