Stars drop ninth straight

The Thunder Bay North Stars slide continued unabated Saturday night. The Superior International Junior Hockey League squad dropped a 6-0 decision to the powerhouse Minnesota Wilderness, their ninth straight defeat.

The Superior International Junior Hockey League squad dropped a 6-0 decision to the powerhouse Minnesota Wilderness, their ninth straight defeat.

Statistics were not available on the league website.

The Stars (25-26-1) slipped below .500 with the loss. The Wilderness continued their roll through the five-team circuit, improving to 51-3-2. The second-ranked team in the Canadian Junior Hockey League has 104 points, 35 more than second-place Fort Frances. 

The Stars have four games remaining, all against Fort Frances. The Lakers and Stars will hook up next Friday and Saturday on the road, then return to Fort William Gardens on March 11 and 13 for a pair of make-up games postponed earlier this season by weather.
