The host Stingers rallied from a three-run deficit in the seventh inning, capping their comeback in the ninth when Steven Brault lifted a sacrifice fly to right, scoring Max Dutto with the game-winning run in Willmar’s 4-3 victory.

The Cats (4-4) did all their damage in the third, scoring on a Dylan Becker single, a Ryan Casillas hit by pitch and a steal of home.

Reliever Kyle Cornett took the loss, giving up two earned runs in 2.1 innings of work. He took over for starter Caleb Smith, who gave up three hits and struck out five for the Border Cats.

Zack Tillery earned the win in relief for Willmar.
