The Winnipeg Wesman senior drained a three-pointer with seven seconds on the clock to stun the Lakehead Thunderwolves 64-63 on Friday night at the BOB FM Women’s basketball shootout in the Manitoba capital.

Prasek hit three three-pointers en route to a 13-point night, one less than teammate Danielle Baril, who led the Wesmen with 14.

Carolyn Fragale had a game-leading 18 points for the Thunderwolves, including five three-pointers.  Second-year Lindsay Inkila had a career-high 15.

"Our ladies battled hard tonight. We were out of sorts in the first quarter and put ourselves into a hole. we did a much better job of moving the ball and getting open looks but failed to take care of the ball and score in the final quarter,” said LU coach Jon Kreiner.

“Lindsay Inkila sparked our comeback scoring 15 points and Carloyn Fragale was super tonight. In the end it was free throws that cost us again, 7 of 12 for us, versus 12 of 12 for Winnipeg."

The Wolves play Regina on Saturday night.
