THUNDER BAY -- An exciting weekend for three of the Thunder Bay Atom AA teams as took to the ice in the 34th Annual Fargo Freeze Squirt International Hockey Tournament.
Eighty teams were registered for the weekend tournament that took place Feb. 15 to 18 in Fargo, ND. Teams from Canada and USA came to participate including the Las Vegas, NV Jr. Golden Knights.
The KC Sabres and NorWest Stars played in the Squirt Elite with 16 teams. KC Sabres were beat by the Moorhead, MN Black and Lincoln, NE Jr. Stars but played for third place against Las Vegas Jr. Golden Knights where they beat the Knights in OT 3-2. NorWest Stars battled it out with Osseo Maple Grove, MN Black where they went to seven overtimes before Osseo beat NorWest 3-2. NorWest placed 10th overall.
North End Flames played in Squirt B with 63 other teams. The Flames went head to head with Jamestown, ND and lost 3-2. The Flames placed 4th overall.
