Krista McCarville is back in business at the Ontario Scotties Tournament of Hearts.

The 28-year-old skip stole three in the 10th end to break a 5-5 tie, evening her record at 2-2 with an 8-5 win over Shelburne’s Kristy Russell.

Fellow Thunder Bay skip Margo Dahl also hit the .500 mark, snapping a two-game slide with a 9-2 thrashing of former two-time champ Alison Goring, a match that ended after the minimum six ends. Dahl scored four with the hammer in the first end, then stole points in the second and third to put the game away in a hurry.

Thunder Bay’s other entry, the Ashley Kallos rink, didn’t fare as well as her city mates, dropping a 9-6 decision to Susan McKnight, a game that saw Kallos down 5-1 after three ends.

The Three Thunder Bay rinks are in a four-way tie for fourth spot, behind Ottawa’s Rachel Homan, who remained perfect at 4-0 with a 6-2 win over Idylwylde’s Tracy Horgan.
Horgan and McKnight are tied for second with 3-1 marks.
